This year's graduation ceremony saw 18 final year students from Cardiff School of Biosciences collect a total of 21 prizes for their academic performance.
These prizes recognise our best graduating students across the range of degree courses offered by the School, including professional training with industry. In most cases, the prizes are accompanied by a small monetary reward, provided by our alumni, notable academics, Societies and industrial sponsors.
Professor Ole Petersen the Director of School said "This year, as in many previous years, we had a substantial number of top performances in the School of Biosciences. It was a great pleasure to meet these outstanding prize-winners and to celebrate their great achievements."

The Professional Training Year Prize x2; for the most deserving performance in the Professional Training Year (£100).
The R. C. McLean Prize x2; for the best Final Year student in the area of Plant Science (£50).
The Malcolm Roberts Prize; for the best Final Year student studying B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences (Neuroscience) or B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences (Neuroscience) (Intercalated) (£200).
The M.Res Research Project Prize; for the best M.Res. Research Project (£200).
The Robert Creed Prize; for the best Final Year student in a course with a significant component of Genetics (£200).
The Ray Beverton Prize; for the best Final Year student in Biosciences degree schemes (£250).
The Alfred Hughes Memorial Medal; for the best Final Year student studying B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences (Anatomy) or B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences (Anatomy) (Intercalated) (£200 plus medal).
The Fritz Jacoby Prize x 2; for the best Final Year project by a science student studying B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences (Anatomy) (£75); and for the best Final Year project by an intercalating student studying B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences (Anatomy) (Intercalated) (£75).
The Edith Sheppard Prize; for the best Final Year student in the area of Zoology (£200).
The Centenary Prize x2; for the most deserving Final Year studying B.Sc. Ecology or B.Sc. Biology or B.Sc. Zoology (in the areas of Ecology) (£200); and for the most deserving Final Year student studying B.Sc. Biology (£200).
The Yakult Prize; for the best Final Year project by a student on the B.Sc. Microbiology degree scheme (£250).
The Society of Biology Prize; for the top Bioscience student (£150 and one year's membership of the Society of Biology).
The Biochemical Society Project Prize; for the best Final Year Biochemistry project (£100).
The K. S. Dodgson Memorial Prize; for the best Final Year student studying B.Sc. Biochemistry or B.Sc. Molecular Biology (£200).
The S. L. Stone Prize x2 for the most meritorious Final Year student studying B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences (Physiology) or B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences (Physiology) (Intercalated) (£200).
