A personal perspective on Huntington's disease

Huntington's disease is hereditary neurodegenerative condition affecting over 7,000 people in Wales and England.

This week is Huntington's Disease Awareness Week, and to help people better understand what it's like to live with the disease, Dr Hannah Furby has interviewed one of her research participants, Neilson.

Neilson, 42, is a PE teacher from Rhondda Cynon Taf. He learned that he carried the faulty huntingtin gene following the diagnosis of his mother a number of years ago. He speaks candidly about how it feels to know he will go on to develop Huntington's disease, and his reasons for taking part in research.
