CITER exhibits at the Urdd National Eisteddfod

30 Mai 2019

wound painting

This year’s Urdd National Eisteddfod took place in Cardiff Bay between 27 May - 1 June.  It was CITER’s first time to exhibit as part of Cardiff University’s pavilion. There was a full programme for the week and CITER exhibited on Tuesday 28th May.

blood and cells1

The CITER exhibit included two activities; blood and cells and wound painting. Both activities promoted an understanding of blood component function and immunity. The children were given an overview of blood, its composition and function demonstrated by props. A hands on creating activity included making a cell found in the human body out of modelling clay. The wound painting activity involved the volunteer creating a wound, cut or bruise on the hand whilst teaching children how the body reacts when they cut themselves. Both activities proved to very popular with the children.
