Dr Nina Græger

Nina Græger is a Senior Research Fellow at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) and Associate Professor II at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (MSc programme in IR). She is Co-Editor of International Peacekeeping and Member of the Board of the Nordic International Studies Association (NISA). During 2008-2013 she was Head of Department (Department of International Politics) at NUPI. Dr Græger is involved as project leader and researcher in several international research projects, including in the EU FP7 funded GR:EEN - Global Reordering: Evolution through European Networks and EUPERFORM - Measuring the EU's Performance in International Institutions, a Collaborative Research Project awarded by the European Science Foundation.

Her main research interests are security studies, inter-organisational relations, European, transatlantic and Norwegian security and defence, and military sociology. She has appeared in journals such as Cambridge Review of International Affairs, Journal of Peace Research, Journal of European Integration and Cooperation and Conflict. Her most recent publication is 'Security. EU-NATO Relations: Informal Cooperation as a Common Lifestyle', in Orsini, A (ed.),  The long-term political action of the EU with(in) international organizations.

Senior Research Fellow Dr Græger is working in NUPI's research group on Foreign policy and diplomacy. Her  research includes European security and transatlantic relations, including NATO and CDSP. Norwegian foreign, security and defence policy, with particular emphasis on the military, and international operations. She received her PhD from the Department of Political Science at the University of Oslo in 2007.
