Centre for Trials Research

We aim to improve the health and well-being of society through recognised excellence in clinical trials and other well designed studies.

We are currently operating in a business continuity mode. This means that we are not undertaking business as usual and areas of our work have been prioritised. We are focusing our energies on the critical systems required to ensure that people in our studies are safe, and to look after our staff. This means that some non-priority aspects of work may take longer or even be paused for the next few months. We will not be opening new studies (other than exceptions relating to COVID19) and nor are we processing any data sharing requests. However we are still open, although predominantly virtually, so if you have any questions about this please do contact us on CTR@cardiff.ac.uk.

As the largest group of academic clinical trials staff in Wales, we tackle the big diseases and health concerns of our time by forming partnerships with researchers and building lasting relationships with the public.

Our portfolio of work includes drugs trials and complex interventions, mechanisms of disease and treatments, cohort studies and informing policy and practice.

We provide the expertise to promote, design, conduct, analyse and publish research from high value studies that improve the health and well-being of society.

Increasing research capacity in Wales, and building partnerships with researchers globally to design, conduct and publish well-designed trials and studies.

We work closely with study participants and the public to make sure our interventions are as effective, safe and well-designed as they can be.

An experienced group of researchers and study teams work together to ensure the success of our clinical trials and studies.
