Our students benefit from teaching and research that is driven by curiosity and creativity.

We work in partnership with our students to create a stimulating and supportive environment in which all our students can thrive. Studying and learning in a research-rich environment means our students are taught by scholars working at the frontiers of knowledge in their disciplines.

Levels of student satisfaction are consistently high, the 2021 National Student Survey found that 72% of our students were satisfied with their student experience.

Our programmes of study develop critical thinking skills and prepare students for bright and successful futures.

Preparing students for employment

95% of our graduates were in employment and/or further study, due to start a new job or course, or doing other activities such as travelling, 15 months after the end of their course. Source: *Graduate Outcomes 2021/22 survey.

Many of our degree programmes offer the opportunity for work placement or overseas experience. Some offer a professional training year or study abroad. We also have a wide range of programmes accredited by professional bodies. All undergraduate and postgraduate students have the opportunity to study a language during their time with us.

We are the largest provider of adult education in Wales, with Continuing and Professional Development providing several hundred short courses in venues across South East Wales. We also offer professional development programmes, including custom-made courses.

Supporting learning and teaching

Our Cardiff Learning and Teaching Academy provides support for the development of our teaching and learning activities. This includes working to continuously improve the learning experience of our students and encouraging our staff to develop and share their teaching expertise.

The Learning Hub is one of the ways in which we share good practice across the University and support all our staff to develop their teaching knowledge and skills
