Developing District Nursing - 20 credits (NR3168)
Nursing patients’ in their own homes and communities whenever possible is a major policy priority for the Welsh Assembly Government. The aim of this module is to develop the specialist skills and theoretical knowledge of the district nurse in order to provide high quality care. This module will focus on the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care given to individuals, families and groups within the context of district nursing. It will explore working in partnership with patients, carers and service providers and examine the social and health care needs of a defined population. The evidence base supporting district nursing will be examined along with the organisation and delivery of health and social care in the community.
