Aim
The aim of this module is to enable students to acquire further advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions, including manipulation, by building upon practice, knowledge and skills from HCT027 to enable a broadening of the knowledge and skills base. It will allow the student to utilise the reflective and metacognitive skills developed in HCT027 to further advance clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Clinical reasoning, problem-solving and reflection skills will be employed in patient assessment and problem identification. Adequate practice will be given for the acquisition of the required practical assessment and treatment skills.
The module will enable students to integrate broader evidence-based knowledge with their own clinical practice to critically evaluate advanced physiotherapy practice. Develop knowledge of the research process and methods in a clinical setting.
