Ms Karen Visser
- Four year BSc Hons degree in Physiotherapy, Stellenbosch University, South Africa, 1989.
- MSc in Physiotherapy, Cardiff University, 2008.
I have worked over 16 years as a physiotherapist in a variety of contexts and countries and have experience in both orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation. I am interested in combining advances in both these areas when managing patients with neurological pathologies, particularly in the paediatric population. Current research includes investigation of strengthening programmes for children with cerebral palsy, as well as sports participation for children with disabilities.
I am currently a lecturer on both the undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy degree programmes in the School of Healthcare Studies, Cardiff University.
I completed Module One of a Postgraduate Certificate in University Teaching and Learning (PCUTL), Cardiff University, in April 2007 and have recently enrolled for PCUTL Module Two (2009). I am committed to on-going reflective practice in Learning and Teaching and combining scholarship with research.
