Olfactory function in humans
How
and why do we smell? We record the function of the human olfactory
system using electrodes placed around the bridge of the nose.
Good for objective smell tests and many other applications.
Smell perception. We are studying the physiological
vs. psychological response to odours. Are good & bad odours
reated differently by the brain?
Human pheromones. We are also studying the
responses to so-called "human pheromones" (sex-steroid
like compounds, eg androstadienone, estratetraenol).
