Cardiff University Field Course 2010
20 July 2010

Danau Girang Field Centre welcomed its third batch of Cardiff University’s students from 3 to 18 July. Twenty-one second year biology students embarked on a two-week field course focusing on primate communities, bird ringing, butterfly ecology, amphibian and small mammal diversity, and forest ecology. PTYs Alice Evans and Jennifer Shepperson, volunteers Thibaut Foch and Leah Schein and MRes student Andy Harrison assisted the four Cardiff staff (Prof Mike Bruford, Dr Ian Vaughan, Dr Bill Symondson and Dr Benoit Goossens) in their task of running a successful field course, which was highlighted by the presence of a troop of 50-60 elephants in the vicinity of the centre.
