Research Overview
Biologically active chemicals in ecology and the environment
Chemical substances and mixtures are widely used in chemical communication and defence between organisms, are serving as template for pharmaceuticals and their role can be affected by anthropogenic pollution even at sub-lethal levels. Recent advances in separation sciences have greatly advanced our ability to analyse and profile such bouquets and consequently play a significant role in our studies investigating identity and dynamic of natural and anthropogenic chemical substances and mixtures and their function and sub-lethal effects in ecology and the environment.
