WEST is funded under the EU KEF Higher Skills fund. This project arises from the need to promote the uptake and rapid commercialisation and exploitation of research in the field of energy, as acknowledged in the creation of the Welsh Energy Research Centre (WERC), thorugh the provision of skills development training and education for Welsh SME's.
Through collaboration with the appropriate sector skills councils this project aims to build a training and education initiative to compliment and promote the existing and current research undertaken in the member HEI's while enabling SME's HEI's and SSC's to interact to develop a forum for an energy sector skills development agenda for Wales.
