DRU-w Eisteddfod Pavilions

The Design Research Unit - wales based within the wsa have designed and built the first two pavilions seen by visitors to the Eisteddfod in Cardiff. The first pavilion will be used to house the translation facilities, where non-Welsh speaking visitors to the Eisteddfod can pick up free translation handsets. The second building will be used as a base for the multilingual guides who are present at the Eiteddfor to offer advice and directions to visitors.

The pavilions - one timber, the other steel (integrating indigenous raw and processed materials) are designed for re-use following the Eisteddfod in Cardiff, and represent the Unit's commitment to design for re-cycleability -part of an ongoing development of innovative low impact buildings and 'cradle to cradle' philosophy.
