A competition has been launched to win a £1,000 honorarium for undertaking an MSc dissertation on “A survey of waste management issues in the construction industry in the UK”. The award is offered by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) and Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). They are making another £1,000 available to contribute to expenses. Students from any of the WSA MSc schemes can apply, and in the first instance should send an expression of interest to Lara Hopkinson. The competition is then in two stages, firstly by submission of an essay, and secondly by poster presentation.
