This activity is related to wound healing and provides A Level students with the opportunity to have a practical hands on experience tying sutures as they may have seen in hospitals.
As a clinician, tying sutures is a basic skill, but a skill that can significantly affect the healing and scarring of a wound. Depending on where the wound is, tying neat sutures is aesthetically very important.
This activity is suited to A Level students interested in studying medicine at university.
We are able to run this activity at your events in school or other external venues. We also run this activity at Cardiff University's annual event Science in Health Live and Cardiff Institute for Tissue Engineering and Repair Society events.
