Postgraduate taught

This industry-focused course is for graduates from diverse backgrounds interested in developing the skills, knowledge and hands-on experience required to become a commercial software engineer.

After graduating, you will be ideally placed for a career within software engineering, or employment in the wider technology industry. You should have some prior experience of programming before applying for the postgraduate programme.

Group projects

Postgraduate students will be allocated to a team in the Spring semester and asked to prioritise your choice for the major project. You will undertake your major project as part of your dissertation during the summer period.

There are a few options available for postgraduate funding including those offered by us and by external bodies.

Contact time

Postgraduate students are typically taught over two days 09:30-16:30 with an hour for lunch. The taught sessions are a mixture of lecture-style delivery, lab-type sessions, self-study, and group and project work and will include breaks.
