This course introduces the fundamental principles of physical geography, examining the Earth’s formation, plate tectonics, landscape processes, climate systems, and biogeography.
It explores how physical, biological, and chemical processes shape natural systems and human-environment interactions.
Designed as a foundation for further studies in Earth and Environmental Science or Sustainability.
Learning and teaching
Delivered online over 12 weeks via self-paced learning materials, short recordings, and interactive activities.
You’ll work through mapping exercises and applied tasks designed for flexible study. Two optional field trips will give you the chance to explore local landscapes and practise field observation skills.
Coursework and assessment
To award academic credits, it is essential to demonstrate the knowledge and skills you've acquired or enhanced through tangible evidence.
