This online course provides a legal and practical introduction to intellectual property law, which is essential knowledge for those interested in this area of law or business.
Key areas such as copyright law, designs, patents, and trade marks will be covered, including a consideration of criminal and civil infringements, as well as practical guidance on protecting the intellectual property of your business and avoiding breaching the intellectual property rights of others.
Learning and teaching
- Identify the purpose and importance of intellectual property law in the UK and internationally
- Explain the rights and remedies in intellectual property law within the UK, including key legislation and case law
- Outline the consequences of infringement of intellectual property rights and committing criminal offences
- Discuss the importance of protecting a businesses’ intellectual property rights and the options available for doing so.
