2026 alumni 30(ish) Award winners announced
29 October 2026
Cardiff University alumni recognised in the fifth annual 30(ish) awards.
The winners of this year’s 30(ish) alumni awards have been announced, celebrating outstanding Cardiff University alumni who are making a positive impact in their communities and beyond, all before they hit 30. Well, 30(ish).
Now in its fifth year, the 30(ish) Awards shine a spotlight on Cardiff graduates making waves – the disruptors, innovators, change seekers, mischief makers and boundary breakers. Unlike traditional ‘30 Under 30’ lists, these awards are open to alumni under or over 30, who feel 30(ish).
Since launching in 2022, more than 1,000 alumni have been nominated, with over 150 winners representing 22 countries and 21 nationalities recognised through the programme.
This year, over 200 nominations came in, with a panel of alumni guest judges helping to take on the difficult task of selecting just 30(ish) winners.
The 2026 cohort reflects the breadth and diversity of Cardiff's global alumni community. Among them are sustainability leaders, advocates for women's health and refugee rights, journalists, poets, researchers and healthcare professionals whose work is improving the lives of millions of people.
In November, the winners will return to Cardiff to collect their awards at a special ceremony hosted by University Chancellor Laura Trevelyan (PGDip 1991, Hon 2022) and Chair of Council Pat Younge (BSc 1987), both proud alumni themselves.
During the evening, the prestigious Chancellor’s Award will be presented to one exceptional winner, and the popular People’s Choice Award – voted for by past and present winners – will make its return.
Barry Sullivan, Head of Alumni Relations said:
"One of the greatest privileges of these awards is discovering the incredible things Cardiff alumni are achieving around the world. This year's winners are tackling global challenges, breaking down barriers and creating positive change in their communities, industries and professions. As we celebrate the fifth year of the 30(ish) Awards, it's inspiring to see how this community continues to grow. We look forward to welcoming this year's winners back to Cardiff and celebrating everything they've accomplished together.”
