Student Route Visa

Last updated: 11/07/2025 11:13

The Student Route Visa is the most suitable immigration option for most undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by Cardiff University.

This visa is designed for international students attending Cardiff University for a course lasting more than six months.

For students aged 16 to 17, it is important to apply for a Student Route Visa instead of a Child Student Visa when enrolling at Cardiff University.

If you apply for this visa, you will;

  • receive a visa that covers the entire duration of your course, plus an additional wrap-up period depending on the length of your course.
  • have the ability to reside, study, and, in most cases, work part-time in the UK (with certain restrictions).
