Callum Davies (BA 2013) studied French and Welsh and credits the School of Modern Languages with helping him secure his current role as a Player Liaison Officer for Cardiff City Football Club.

Emma Garnett (BA 2015) is a Key Account Assistant for a railway technology business which has an annual turnover of £0.5 billion. Emma, who studied English Language and French, says “it’s always a joy to return to Cardiff”.

Matthew Whitley (BA 2018) studied French at the School of Modern Languages and has recently secured a role at international auditors KPMG. He believes that “languages are a fundamental need in all professions.”

Eirian James (BA 2012, MA 2013) chose the School of Modern Languages to study both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He now works as a teacher in Terrassa, just outside Barcelona where he teaches English as a foreign language.

“Vibrant, inspiring, rigorous, passionate and home” are the five words Lucy Jenkins (BA 2014, MA 2015) used to describe Cardiff University. After graduating from the School of Modern Languages in 2015 she returned two years later as National Coordinator of the Modern Foreign Languages Student Mentoring Project.
