Careers and employability
With a humanities degree, you’ll develop the transferable skills, digital literacies, and confidence to navigate whatever the future may hold.
Following your passions and interests is a great start to any journey. Not only are our graduates successful in the job market after they leave us, but, just as importantly, they find fulfilling careers driven by their enthusiasm and curiosity.
Undergraduate opportunities
With our undergraduate programmes, you'll have the opportunity to develop academic, professional and digital literacies that are invaluable in the workplace.
96% of our graduates were in employment and/or further study or doing other activities such as travelling, 15 months after their course ended (Graduate Outcomes survey 2022/23*).
Career preparation
Our second-year Employability: Knowledge, Skills and Experience module will help you gain practical experience, create an effective career plan and compete in the graduate recruitment process.
The module is delivered in collaboration with Student Futures and will provide you with vital insights into the graduate labour market, with a particular focus on opportunities for graduates in the fields of journalism, media and culture.

Alumni advantages
Our career support does not end at graduation; there are several benefits available exclusively for alumni.
Careers advice for alumni is available for up to 3 years after graduation, offering careers fairs, workshops, events as well as access to careers and vacancy information, graduate internships and more.
Alumni can also join the Cardiff University Alumni Network on LinkedIn and network with over 10,000 members. You'll be able to engage directly with fellow alumni to ask career questions, hear about job opportunities and find out about the latest news and insight from Cardiff University.
