Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships

Applications for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024 call open on April 10.

These fellowships are designed to help early career researchers enhance their career development and prospects by working abroad.

We invite expressions of interest from researchers interested in submitting a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF) application for the 2024 call with Cardiff University as the host organisation.

About the scheme

Funded by the European Commission, we offer two types of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships. Both allow secondments and/or a non-academic placement.

European Fellowships

European fellowships are:

• one to two years in duration
• hosted at an organisation in an EU member state or Horizon Europe associated country
• open to researchers of all nationalities

Global Fellowships

Global fellowships are:

• two to three years in duration with:
  • an outgoing phase hosted at an organisation outside of Europe
  • a one-year return phase hosted at an organisation in an EU member state or associated country
• open to nationals or long term residents of EU member states or Horizon Europe associated countries

Who can apply?

To apply, researchers must have a PhD and a maximum of 8 years experience in research at the call deadline.

Researchers must also comply with the mobility rule – they must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the host organisation for more than 1 year in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline.

How to apply?

The internal deadline for the 2024 call is 8 May 2024.

We invite expressions of interest from researchers who have the support of an academic supervisor.

Researchers must identify a Cardiff University principal investigator as their Supervisor and contact them directly to find out whether they will support the application. Explore our Academic School pages to identify a potential supervisor for your project.

Researchers with supervisor support can then submit their expression of interest by completing the online application form and by emailing a two-page research overview and two-page CV to msca@cardiff.ac.uk.

Your application will be sent on to the Academic School/Institute of your choice to review and to confirm their support for your proposal.

You can expect to have a response by mid-June.
