Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship

Thank you for your interest in the Marie Skodowska Individual Fellowships at Cardiff University.  Unfortunately, the deadline for Expressions of Interest for the 2020 call has now closed.  For any queries, please contact

We aim to attract researchers with outstanding potential to work with us on cutting-edge research projects that will make an original and significant contribution.

We invite expressions of interest from researchers interested in submitting a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship (MSCA IF) application with Cardiff University as the host organisation. MSCA IFs are funded by the European Commission.

We can offer support and guidance to applicants who successfully go through the internal selection process and respect the timeline for the EoI submission (14 May 2020) and the following internal deadlines (to be communicated to applicants in due course).

Researchers must have a doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience. At the time of the deadline for submission, they shall not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the submission date.

Submit your Expression of Interest

The European Commission’s next call for applications closes on 9 September 2020.  Expressions of Interest to Cardiff University are required by 14 May 2020.

Complete the following steps:

  1. Read the Fellowship Guidelines to check your eligibility.
  2. Complete your details on our online form, ensuring that you also upload your Expression of Interest form.

We will send this for review to the Academic School of your choice to confirm their support for your proposal and confirm a supervisor.

Please review the Academic School pages and identify a suitable supervisor to include in your Expression of Interest.  We would also encourage you to contact your desired supervisor prior to submission.

You will be contacted only if you have been accepted by an Academic School. You can expect to have a response by the beginning of June.

Please make sure you have carefully read the guidelines and understood the scheme requirements before starting to work on your Expression of Interest. Expressions of Interest which are incomplete or show that the scheme guidelines have not been clearly understood will not be sent forward, without notification.
