Civil Engineering

Civil engineers design, build and maintain the spaces and places that shape our day-to-day existence, including the construction and maintenance of buildings, roads, railways, bridges, water supply and waste networks.

Our accredited civil engineering degrees provide the knowledge and practical skills required to design and work with the built and natural environments and their infrastructure.

The practical components really helped me to get a lot from my course. For example, each year we went on a field trip to a different location in the UK. During the trips, you really get a practical hands-on experience of what the industry offers. We got to survey different buildings and see how they are structurally put together. It was also a good chance to get to know your lecturers, so you feel more comfortable asking them questions later in the course. And you get to meet more of your course mates and make friends.
