Grange Pavilion Youth Forum wins Street Games National Award

13 Ebrill 2017

Youth Awards

The Grange Pavilion Youth Forum have won a National Doorstop  Sport Engagement award at the Street Games National Awards for their work bringing sport into the community.

The young people in the forum have worked tirelessly to bring sport into a local park in Grangetown, engaging young people in an environment that otherwise has played host to vandalism and substance abuse.

By placing young voices at the centre of their provision they have enhanced the reputation of the local area and provided vital opportunities to those that need it most.

Doorstep Sport was developed in response to research from the Home Office which detailed some of the reasons why young people came to the attention of the police, it is designed to help young people keep themselves safe and avoid getting into trouble. Doorstep Sport tackles this health inequality by encouraging more young people to get involved in sport and physical activity.
