Climate and nature
We're creating a sustainable future by building on the ways people are reconnecting with nature and our planet, and finding solutions to achieve a net-zero and nature-positive future.
We're committed to taking action on sustainability, leading by example and improving our own environmental performance. We're building an inclusive, sustainable, and resilient future to bring about environmental benefits not only to Cardiff but to the wider world.
We're promoting sustainability through our teaching, sharing of our innovative research and through public engagement activities.
Our staff and students are making positive changes to our environmental impact, in particular through our declaration of a Climate Emergency, and our aim to become carbon net zero by 2030.
Connecting communities with nature
Our Green Social Prescribing project in Abercynon is creating an interactive, community-developed nature trail in the Cynon Valley, serving the local community to promote improved wellbeing and long-term health outcomes.
With our Pharmabees programme, we're exploring how pollinators could help in the fight against superbugs. Combining cutting-edge research with community engagement, we're inspiring people across Cardiff to take part and help create a greener, bee-friendly city.
Local community projects supporting climate and nature
We're supporting exiting local projects to tackle the global ecological crisis.
