A wellbeing economy

As Wales’ biggest university, we are helping the transition to an economy that puts people and planet first.

We are delivering smarter, innovative projects that recognise the need for a productive and low-carbon society that uses resources efficiently and proportionately – emphasising skills, education, and fair work in generating wealth.

The cost of living crisis is widening economic inequality in Wales, poverty is increasing, and our economy is using natural resources faster than we can replenish them. Failing to change our approach will mean that the environment, on which the economy depends, will be damaged beyond repair, affecting prosperity, jobs and increasing inequalities in the housing market for current and future generations.

Our work in the community and with industry seeks to tackle these very issues.
