Children holding hands up in class in China

The videos have been designed for teachers to use in their own time, and allow secondary school children to explore contemporary and traditional life in China.

The sessions cover a range of subject areas including:

  • Food and nutrition: make a special Chinese noodle dish... using lasagna!
  • Music: discover the ‘Pipa’ including a live demonstration
  • Design and technology: learn how people use different types of technology in modern China
  • Media studies: find out how the film Mulan 花木兰 reflects key qualities of Chinese society

The videos will either include a hands-on element for pupils or you will be given an additional activity to use.
