Wales Gene Park activities for schools and colleges

Wales Gene Park delivers a varied programme of educational events for schools and colleges throughout Wales and bordering counties, aimed at supporting genetics and genomics secondary education and raising awareness of relevant careers.

The programme of activities offered include:

  • key stage five Genetic/Genomic Roadshow
  • teachers' CPD events for biology teachers
  • requests for support from schools and colleges for career and science events
  • resources for schools, including access to the "Your Genome" website and the "You vs Machine" interactive game which can be used in the classroom.

The Gene Park also runs a Teachers' Genetic Network, aimed at biology teachers wishing to be kept up to date with the latest genetic and genomic information.
