Volunteer

Volunteer vacancies

We are currently looking for volunteers to join our pool of reviewers, who will be responsible for assessing the suitability of projects applying to use samples in the Biobank.

The review committee comprises experts from specific disease areas as well as non-specialists. We are currently looking for extra volunteers in the following categories:

  • academics who work in biomedical or life science fields
  • individuals who have expertise in human ethics
  • clinicians
  • lay representatives (for example, those who don’t work in a biomedical field)
  • patient representatives.

Lay and patient representatives can have any kind of background and need no academic expertise. Patient representatives will need to have experience of hospital-based care.

The review of applications will generally be conducted over email. As you will form part of a pool of members, each individual should only be called on a few times a year to review applications so it will not be too time-consuming. Travel expenses will be reimbursed if any face-to-face meetings are required.

If you are interested in becoming a reviewer for the Biobank, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us and we’ll be in touch with you soon.
