Graduate documents for studies completed after 1 July 2017

Request digital and other graduate documents, including letters, transcripts, certificates, references, verifications and Higher Education Achievement Reports (HEAR) and more.

These services are for former Cardiff University students who completed their studies after 1 July 2017, and third parties who need to verify their qualifications.

Digital, email and print options are available. Please read service descriptions and contact instructions carefully, so we can respond to your request as quickly as possible.

Digital options (recommended)

Digital options offer the fastest access to official documents and verifications.

Free for you and third parties.

You can access your digital degree certificate and HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Report), or give third parties digital access to them, free of charge by logging into the VERIFY portal.

The HEAR provides a detailed, authorised digital academic record. It shows modules and marks, including some modules that did not contribute towards your final mark, and failed modules or re-sits. It includes recognised achievements (volunteering or representative roles, University awards, academic or professional prizes).

Your HEAR is finalised after you graduate and remains available indefinitely. If you receive multiple degrees from Cardiff University, you will have multiple Cardiff University HEAR records. Your HEAR is only a valid document in its digital, online format – not in printed form.

You can permit potential employers, providers of further study, embassies or other third parties to access your verified HEAR record. For security purposes, the documents cannot be downloaded.

To share your documents with third parties, log into the Verify Portal and click the MANAGE button in the ‘Connections’ section of your Dashboard. Login guides and FAQs about the Verify Portal are available.

There is a charge for third party access.

Employers, other universities, governments or other statutory bodies can get digital verification of your degree, classification and study dates (sometimes called an academic reference) by visiting the HEDD portal and paying a fee.
