The British Academy

Each year, the British Academy elects to its Fellowship up to 38 outstanding UK-based scholars who have achieved distinction in any branch of the humanities and social sciences.

We have a number of staff members who have received this honour due to the outstanding work they have done in their field.

Professor Kenneth Dyson - Distinguished Research Professor in the School of European Studies .

Professor Antony Manstead - Social Psychologist in the School of Psychology.

Professor David Marquand, Honorary Distinguished Professor, School of Law and Politics.

Professor Carole Pateman - Honorary Professor from 2002-2005 and a Research Professor from 2002-2007, School of Modern Languages.

Professor Alisdair Whittle - Distinguished Research Professor in Archaeology, School of History, Archaeology and Religion.
