We have an extensive outreach programme to encourage students of various age groups to aspire to, and prepare for, higher education.

Schools and Colleges Outreach Service

Our experienced Schools and Colleges Outreach Team work with over 300 schools and colleges each year. We attend HE fairs and deliver a range of information sessions to support year 12 and year 13 students throughout the transition into higher education.

Open Days or visits to the University

School and college groups are welcomed at our Open Day and there are specific events held for visiting teachers and advisers. Our Open Days will give your students a chance to gain first-hand experience of the University and the city. Teachers and careers advisers’ conference

Our free teachers and career advisers’ conference took place on Friday 30 June 2017. Through guest speakers, interactive tours and informal discussion, our conference addressed a number of key topics such as the latest changes in Higher Education and the tools and techniques available to improve teaching and learning within the classroom.

Widening access

We run a range of programmes and activities to raise aspirations and promote higher education to traditionally under-represented groups in Wales.These are offered to students in years 11 to 13.

Higher Education Roadshow

We work in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University to raise awareness and promote the benefits of higher education through HE Roadshow assemblies, which are delivered to year 10 and 11 students in Welsh schools.
