We have an extensive outreach programme to encourage students of various age groups to aspire to, and prepare for, higher education.

Schools and Colleges Outreach Service

Our Schools and Colleges Outreach Team work with over 240 schools and colleges each year to deliver information sessions for year 12 and year 13 students.

Open Days or visits to the University

School and college groups are welcomed at our Open Day and there are specific events held for visiting teachers and advisers.Our next Open Day will be on 21 October 2017 and will give you and your students a chance to get first-hand experience of the University and the city. Teachers and careers advisers’ conference

Our teachers and careers advisers’ conference took place on Friday 30 June 2017.Our free, one day conference brings together key guest speakers to provide you with the tools and techniques to improve teaching and learning within your classroom, in addition to finding out about the latest changes in Higher Education.The day includes interactive tours of university facilities.Visit our conference page to find out more about the day.

Widening access

We run a range of programmes and activities to raise aspirations and promote higher education to traditionally under-represented groups in Wales.These are offered to students in years 11 to 13.

Higher Education Roadshow

We work in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University (formerly UWIC) to raise awareness and promote the benefits of higher education through HE Roadshow assemblies, which are delivered to year 10 and 11 students in Welsh schools.
