Articles
You may be interested in an article in the September 2002 issue of the British Journal of
Industrial Relations. It is partly based on the data contained in the Cyber Picket Line's
World Trade Union Directory.
The piece is titled: Will unionism prosper in cyberspace? The
promise of the internet for employee organisation and is written by Wayne Diamond and
Richard Freeman of LSE and Harvard respectively.
If your library or educational institute
has an account with Ingenta, you should be able to get access to the article
here.
A version of it is available as an NBER Working Paper
here
Another useful article is Unions
get connected, in the internet industry magazine Industry Standard Europe
. The article examines unions' use of the web and includes comments from myself and others.
See also, an article of mine called Workers of the World Online that I originally wrote for People
Management, a UK industrial relations magazine. It is in English, as well as French and
German (thanks to the PSI).
