Undergraduate courses

Our degree programmes convey the excitement of physics and astronomy, develop your skills in problem solving and help prepare you for a variety of careers.

Modern and well-equipped laboratories allow students to gain experience with experimental methods and equipment.

We take great pride in the quality of our teaching and the attainments of our students. The University is one of the top places in the UK to study physics and astronomy, from both a teaching and research perspective.

In the 2017 National Student Survey, 89.7% were satisfied with the overall organisation and management of their undergraduate course and 94.5% were satisfied with the learning materials available to undergraduate students.

Flexible study

All of our undergraduate courses have a common first year which allows you to transfer onto a different undergraduate course within the School if you so wish. You can make a decision on the content of your 3rd and 4th year courses at the end of the second year.

This makes for a flexible study programme allowing you to change your mind if you decide that you would rather take one of our other courses once you have started your degree with us.

Degree courses

We offer a wide range of undergraduate degrees.
