Grant award for new recording

Dr Arlene Sierra's latest CD recording has received a substantial grant from the Ditson Fund Recording Programme, whose objectives are to document and provide wider exposure for the music of younger American composers.
Insects in Amber: Arlene Sierra, Vol. 3 will be the latest release from Bridge Records' series devoted to Dr Sierra's music. The CD will include the string quartet Insects in Amber, the piano trio Truel, and a variety of other chamber works for violin, cello and piano.
The first two CDs in the series, Arlene Sierra, Vol.1 and Game of Attrition: Arlene Sierra, Vol. 2, have both received critical acclaim and are available internationally.
Two pieces by Dr Sierra – Aquilo for orchestra and Art of War for piano and orchestra - will be broadcast as part of the 'Afternoon on 3' programme on BBC Radio 3.
