Responsibilities
Professor Malcolm Eames has a Research Chair with the Low Carbon Research Institute, based at the Welsh School of Architecture.
Research Interests
Malcolm is an experienced research leader, with a track record of successfully developing and managing innovative interdisciplinary research activities and teams in the field of environment, energy and sustainability. He also has particular experience of developing and leading successful networking and knowledge transfer activities at the research/policy interface. His current research interests span: hydrogen energy and the transition to a low carbon economy; energy and innovation policy; foresight and low carbon futures; socio-technical change, innovation and sustainability; participatory technology assessment; environmental justice; deliberative decision-making; and sustainable development research policy.
Over the last 10 years Malcolm has participated in and led research and consultancy projects for a wide range of funding bodies including: EPSRC, ESRC, Defra, DTI, DETR, UK Cabinet Office and Foresight Programmes, Environment Agency, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, European Commission and Irish Environmental Protection Agency.
