Campus Visit Day

Our Campus Visit Days will give you a brief overview of life at Cardiff University but are not full Open Days.

You will be able to:

  • visit and tour the campus
  • see the Students' Union, rated Top 4 in the UK
  • visit our City of Cardiff drop in shop
  • attend our Residences talk to find out more about living in our student halls
  • attend our ‘Why Cardiff?’ talk to find out more about Cardiff University, the support available to you and quiz our student panel
  • find out more about our Academic Schools and meet current students in our Subject Fair
  • watch our student-led films (some of which are created by our own students) whilst munching on some complementary popcorn!

The campus tour will not include the Schools of Dentistry, Healthcare Sciences or Medicine or any other facilities on the Heath Park campus where these schools are based.

Since our students are currently in residence it will not be possible to visit our residences or individual academic schools during these Campus Visits.

Self-guided campus tour

The tour will give instructions to direct you around campus and will include interesting facts about our facilities. The tour should take approximately one hour. Self-guided tours do not include the Heath Park campus or rooms in Halls of Residence.

Visiting Academic Schools

Offer-holder Open Days

All Academic Schools hold individual Open Days for students holding offers from the University. These invite-only events will be sent to you via post or email. They will typically introduce you to the school, staff and academics as well as giving you a great opportunity to meet students who may be on your course.

During the Open Day, the school will provide you with more information about the course, scholarship information and an in-depth tour of your potential School or College.

Medicine and Dentistry

Cardiff undergraduates acquire a high level of laboratory skills
The School of Medicine's undergraduate students acquire a high level of laboratory skills.

As well as University Open Days special information events are held by the School of Medicine and School of Dentistry. This allows prospective students, parents, applicants, teachers and careers advisors to gain a more in-depth understanding of the school's courses and the facilities on offer.

You'll get a chance to:

  • meet admissions staff
  • chat to current students
  • explore our facilities
  • try out your clinical skills under supervision.
