Y Plas

Y Plas is a multi-purpose venue for both daytime social learning and night time entertainment.

Featuring a mezzanine balcony, new bars, a glass roof, modern décor, the Students’ Union’s recent redevelopment had had excellent feedback from students.

If you’re writing an essay or need somewhere to eat your lunch during the day between lectures, feel free to make yourself at home here. 

The venue even has plug sockets in the booths upstairs so you can use your laptop or charge your phone. You can also grab a bite to eat or a coffee from the food court to keep you going while you study.

By night, Y Plas is also a renowned entertainment venue. It has hosted all kinds of events from regular weekly club nights, live music gigs and of course parties and society performances. Cardiff University Students' Union is famous for hosting amazing live music events. 

Some great acts perform in the last year including Jake Bugg, Bastille and London Grammar. Y Plas has also hosted Students' Union awards, balls and performances such as the Cardiff Fringe Festival.
