Sports clubs

Many of our Athletic Union sports clubs travel all over the UK to compete against other universities in leagues and tournaments organised by British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS).

Being part of a BUCS team gives you the chance to compete across a huge variety of sports, with opportunities at all levels. It's a brilliant way to challenge yourself, travel and represent your university.

Intramural Games (IMG) are fun, competitive sports leagues for students at Cardiff University. These leagues offer opportunities to participate in various sports, build friendships, and enjoy a social aspect of university life, regardless of playing experience.

Create your own team with course or flatmates, or join one of the established school and society teams, which always welcome new players.

You can take part in over 60 sports clubs ranging from traditional sports, such as rugby, football, cricket or tennis, to aerial sports, motorsport and shooting.

You can join a club, come along to training sessions, and be a social member without any pressure to compete in league play. It's all about enjoying the sport and the club atmosphere in a way that suits you.
