Entry requirements for Ireland

During the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak we want to ensure the welfare of our staff and students. Our staff won't be able to attend international exhibitions or events at this time but you can still get in touch.

Our entry requirements will vary depending on your level of study and the course you are interested in.

Undergraduate courses

The Irish Higher Certificate will be considered for entry to our undergraduate courses. To give you an idea of the grades you will require, we have provided the following equivalency table which can be compared against the typical A Level entry requirements listed on our undergraduate course pages.

If you are studying fewer than six subjects at Higher Level, we may still be able to make you an offer. Please contact the Admissions Team for further advice on your individual circumstances.

Please note, this table is for academic purposes only and it is worth noting that some of our courses, such as Medicine and Dentistry, will require additional Level 2 qualifications. Please also see our English language requirements for all courses.

Postgraduate courses

Applicants are required to successfully complete an Irish or UK bachelor (honours) degree or Higher Diploma to be considered for our postgraduate courses.

Please note, there may be exceptions for some courses, such as the Legal Practice or Graduate Diploma in Law, where a degree from a UK university is essential.
