  • India
  • Kenya
  • Pakistan

Qualifying criteria

To be awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Undergraduate International Scholarship, you must:

  • submit your application to the University by 30 June 2026.
  • accept your offer by your UCAS deadline and make Cardiff University your firm choice.
  • meet all the offer conditions, including any English Language conditions as stated in your offer by 31 August 2026.
  • meet the original admissions criteria for your programme.

Applicants who do not meet their offer conditions and original admissions criteria (where applicable) will not be eligible for the scholarship, even if they are accepted into the University.

Applicants holding conditional and unconditional offers must meet our full terms and conditions.

Please note:

  • The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is available to eligible students studying on selected undergraduate degree programmes
  • All undergraduate programmes in the schools of Dentistry, Medicine and Healthcare are not included in the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship scheme
  • Certificate/Diploma awards are not included in the scheme
  • No separate application for the scholarship is required. If you are holding an offer for an eligible programme and meet the criteria as set out in these terms and conditions, you will automatically be awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Undergraduate International Scholarship upon enrolment
  • Cardiff University reserves the right to determine whether the entry conditions of your offer meet the published minimum entry requirements for scholarship purposes
  • Any queries regarding scholarship eligibility need to be raised before 30 November 2026 by emailing InternationalScholarships@cardiff.ac.uk. Requests after this date will not be considered.

Scholarship eligibility is separate from admission eligibility. To qualify for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, you must achieve the published minimum academic entry requirements for your chosen programme exactly as stated on the course pages of our website, at the time of your application.

If you are offered a place at Cardiff University with lower grades or alternative qualifications than those published (for example, if the published minimum requirement is AAB but you are accepted with ABB), you will hold an offer to study, but you will not be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship.
