Vice-Chancellor's Postgraduate International Scholarship 2026
Our Vice-Chancellor's Postgraduate International Scholarships offer funding awards to international students across a variety of postgraduate taught programmes.
Awards between £4,000 to £10,000 will be granted to eligible postgraduate-taught students and will be offered in the form of a tuition fee discount.
How to apply
International applicants from eligible countries/territories who accept an offer for selected postgraduate programmes and pay any required deposit by the date specified on their offer letter will automatically be considered for the Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship.
This scholarship is available for students joining Cardiff University in September 2026.
Awards
The standard award for this scholarship is £4,000.
Applicants domiciled in the following countries/territories are eligible for awards of £6,000:

Eligible applicants initially awarded unconditional offers will automatically be granted the scholarship.
Scholarship awards are subject to meeting the criteria and deposit deadlines as set out in the terms and conditions for each intake.
Qualifying criteria
You will automatically be awarded the appropriate funding as long as you meet our eligibility criteria as set out in the terms and conditions for your intake.
Full terms and conditions for September 2026 entry which includes but is not limited to:
- submitting your application to the University by 31 July 2026
- holding an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught course
- accepting your offer and paying any applicable deposit by 31 July 2026, unless your deposit deadline is after this date, in which case, your deposit must be paid by your initial deposit deadline and your offer accepted within 14 days of it being made. Deposit deadline extensions past the 31 July 2026 will not be accepted for scholarship purposes.
- meeting all the offer conditions, including any English Language conditions as stated in your offer by 20 August 2026.
- must meet the original admissions criteria for your programme
Applicants who do not meet their offer conditions and original admissions criteria (where applicable) will not be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, even if they are accepted into the University.
Scholarship eligibility is separate from admission eligibility. To qualify for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, you must achieve the published minimum academic entry requirements for your chosen programme exactly as stated on the course pages of our website, at the time of your application.
If you are offered a place at Cardiff University with lower grades or alternative qualifications than those published (for example, if the published minimum requirement is a CGPA of 60% but you are accepted with a CGPA of 58%), you will hold an offer to study but you will not be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship.
Cardiff University reserves the right to determine whether the entry conditions of your offer meet the published minimum entry requirements for scholarship purposes.
