We invite those wishing to pursue a career in research post-PhD to apply for a range of fellowships.

These opportunities are available at various times throughout the year.

Science and Technology Funding Council (STFC) Ernest Rutherford Fellowships

We will be supporting three applications for the 2026 STFC Ernest Rutherford Fellowships.

Candidates who are interested, need to apply by 4pm on 30 June 2026. Please send your CV with a complete version of the STFC ERF Expression of Interest (EoI) to Dr Vivien Raymond and Professor Erminia Calabrese.

Royal Society University Research Fellowship (URF)

We will be supporting applications for the Royal Society University Research Fellowships which open on 14  July 2026. We invite potential applicants to submit the URF EoI alongside a CV in the now-standard UKRI format by 4pm on 30 June 2026. Applicants will be notified on 10 July 2026.

It is strongly advised that potential applicants identify an academic mentor from the research group hosting the application and work together with the mentor to draft the material. Contact Dr Vivien Raymond, or Professor Erminia Calabrese for more details.
