Cardiff University is proud to present its expanding suite of palliative care courses, designed to equip healthcare professionals with the skills and confidence to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care across diverse settings.

Our current portfolio reflects the complexity and breadth of modern palliative care practice, offering flexible learning opportunities for professionals at all stages of their careers.

Our palliative care CPD offering has continued to evolve, reflecting the latest research, best practice, and the needs of a diverse healthcare workforce. From introductory courses for those new to the field, to advanced courses for experienced practitioners, our programmes combine academic excellence with practical application.

• New for 2026: Palliative Care at the Front Door – Supporting clinicians in acute and emergency settings to provide timely, person-centred care.
• Communication Skills for Palliative and End-of-Life Care – a 2-day ‘advanced communication skills ‘ face-to-face course to facilitate learning, understanding and practical application of a comprehensive set of communication tools to help with all conversations.
• Palliative Care Update – A comprehensive refresher on current best practice and emerging evidence, look out for new dates
• Community Oncology update– delivered in collaboration with Velindre Cancer Centre, delegates will benefit from updates in crucial oncology topics, with a particular focus on supporting colleagues in primary care, diagnosing and managing patients who have cancer
• Paediatric Palliative Care – Addressing the unique challenges of caring for children and families.  Refresher coming in 2026/7
• RCGP Courses – Strengthening pathways for GPs and primary care teams through collaboration with the Royal College of General Practitioners.
• MSc Palliative Medicine for Health Care and its associated modules, all available as standalone modules, are available for professionals is designed for those wishing to advance knowledge of the management of patients.

Each course is delivered by leading experts from Cardiff University’s School of Medicine and where needed, partner organisations, ensuring delegates benefit from cutting-edge knowledge and practical insights.
