Cardiff University Symphonic Winds
Our Symphonic Winds ensemble have performed pieces from Thomas Tallis to John Adams.
2017 saw the introduction of Cardiff University Symphonic Winds to the list of School-led ensembles in which students are given encouragement and support to continue the development of their performance skills.
Symphonic Winds gives regular concerts and continue to participate in the National Concert Band Festival (NCBF), following in the footsteps of their very successful predecessors the Wind Orchestra.

Director: Joe O'Connell
Joe O'Connell is a specialist in popular music studies, with a particular interest in punk rock, politics, and performer presentation and experience.
Joe is a conservatoire-trained clarinettist and self-taught guitarist, with a wide experience of performance in classical and popular contexts.
