Biography

Claire Harvey is an alumna of Cardiff University holding a BSc in Pharmacology and a PhD in Biomaterials. Claire joined the University’s Business Development Team in Research and Innovation Services in 2009 where she worked to promote and support Innovate UK’s Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) scheme. During this role, she was also seconded to the School of Engineering as their Research Administrator.

Since 2013, Claire has been working in a research development role in RIS supporting the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering in all aspects of research development, with a focus on helping academics gain research funding. She works closely with the Dean of Research and Directors of Research organising training and information events, as well as working with individuals providing advice on the development of funding bids.

Claire is currently undertaking a 9 month secondment at Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) where she is working as the portfolio manager for Clinical Technologies. Claire hopes to use this role to gain an insight into the inner workings of EPSRC, build relationships and pass on her knowledge to researchers to help them develop improved research proposals. In January 2018, Claire is changing roles to become College Research Manager for the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering.
