Partners

The advISO consortium comprises key organisations that bring together real-world expertise in clinical pathogen genomics systems.

Public Health Wales Pathogens Genomics Unit

Public Health Wales (PHW) and Cardiff University have a strong link in developing pathogen genomics services.   PHW will share their expertise in accreditation innovations, including SOP design, validation and verification using GitHub repositories and its competency system. The advISO project will use this knowledge as a basis to develop the advISO framework resources.

South African National Institute of Bioinformatics

The South African National Bioinformatics Institute (SANBI) is contributing to the advISO project by providing extensive expertise in bioinformatics. The institute has a primary focus on development and implementation of computational methodologies that allow biomedical researchers to accelerate their genomics data analyses. As the leading bioinformatics entity in Africa, SANBI fosters local and regional collaborations on health-related topics covering both communicable and noncommunicable diseases.

Wellcome Sanger Institute

The Wellcome Sanger Institute is contributing bioinformatics expertise to the project, building and developing pathogen genomics datasets. Sanger bioinformaticians are using their expertise to support the development of best practice, and the development of competencies within the project.

Wellcome Connecting Science (WCS) is leading the training elements of the advISO project.  As part of the Learning and Training programme at WCS, they develop and deliver training in the application of genomics in healthcare. The WCS team will offer online and  in-person training courses for prospective users of advISO resources supporting their pathway to accreditation.
