The prestigious Henry Loyn Memorial Lecture was established by subscription to honour the memory of Henry Loyn, a very distinguished historian and professor of medieval history at Cardiff. It is held every two years and has attracted a series of distinguished speakers, each in one of the fields where Henry specialised and made a major contribution. The lectures are published in the Haskins Society Journal, a major outlet for research in the subject, issued in the USA.
